Soft drinks is harmful for your health

A meal consisting of burgers and fries is never complete without soft drinks. We never think of the ill-effects that these beverages have on our health, when we gulp them in excess.

Evidence confirms that soft drinks cause serious cell damage. Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in soft drinks has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA, a problem more usually associated with aging. This can eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver and degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s.

There are following other factors that indicate why you should bring down the intake of soft drinks:

1. Dehydration

High levels of caffeine in soft drinks may lead to dehydration. Caffeine is a natural diuretic and causes your body to excrete fluid through urine. Since caffeinated soft drinks can make you need to use the restroom frequently, do not consume them if you are exercising or if you live in a hot climate. You may be more likely to suffer from effects of dehydration, such as thirst and fatigue. Water has the opposite effect. Drinking water keeps you fully hydrated so you can drink it while working out or playing in the sun.

2. Tooth Decay

Soft drinks can contribute to tooth decay and dental cavities. Sugary beverages coat your teeth, gums and tongue for hours after you drink them. This effect breaks down enamel on your teeth, making them more susceptible to rotting. Water does not contribute to dental decay. In fact, water is fluoridated and actually helps strengthen your teeth.

3. Weakened Bones and Risk of Osteoporosis

Frequent consumption of soft drinks may also increase the risk of osteoporosis, especially in people who drink soft drinks instead of calcium-rich milk. Excess consumption of soft drinks in children poses a significant risk factor for impaired calcification of growing bones.

4. Increased Blood Pressure

Expert believes that overconsumption of fructose, particularly in the form of soft drinks, leads to an increase in blood pressure.

5. Kidney Problems

Some studies suggest that consumption of soft drinks also leads to the development of Kidney problems like reduced kidney function and Kidney stones.

6. Metabolic Syndrome

Soft drink consumption is also a significant risk factor for developing of metabolic syndrome, a combination of the symptoms such as high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance.

So better health avoid soft drink and take natural drinks.
